Used by employees of the Japan National Railways (JNR), the 19 Seiko is an essential part of Japan's railway history, boasting world-class accuracy. With 15 jewels and a stop-seconds function, it's a high-spec watch. Good-condition 19 Seiko watches are becoming increasingly rare, and this watch has been overhauled and is still in good condition. The back is engraved with "Showa 36, ​​Chushin 856, JNR." This is one of the few 15-jewel oval-ring watches produced over a three-year period, from 1960 until the exterior case was changed in 1963. It has no "S" or "discarded" markings, indicating it was discarded, and is in minimal condition. While the exterior shows signs of vintage damage, the interior has been thoroughly maintained.

During the Showa era of the Japanese National Railways, the 19SEIKO was a favorite among railway workers for its high precision.

During his time at Seikosha, founder Kintaro Hattori developed the 19th Seiko, a watch with high precision that could rival the foreign-made watches that were in use at the time.

This watch continued to evolve through small, repeated minor changes until 1971.

Beautiful movement with Cotes de Genève finish. 

Seiko pocket watches were popular as Japan's leading "working watches," and have a history of being used not only on railways but also in the cockpits of Zero fighters during wartime.

Recently I've become interested in train travel and wanted a railway clock to use when I'm on the train or as a table clock at home, so I was thinking of buying the current Seiko quartz type.
However, I was introduced to the 19 Seiko at a pocket watch exhibition, and since I've always loved mechanical watches, I decided to buy it.
There was a defect when it was delivered, but it was repaired quickly and I've been using it without any problems. Thank you very much. I like the 5 beat sound. I have a feeling I'll be hooked on 19 Seiko watches from now on.
