Used by employees during the Japan National Railways era, the 19 Seiko is an essential part of Japan's railway history, boasting world-class accuracy. It is a high-spec watch, featuring Seiko's Diaflex, a 15-jewel mainspring known for its unbreakable spring. 19 Seiko watches in good condition are becoming increasingly difficult to come by, and this watch has been overhauled and is still usable. This watch features a two-tone small seconds hand that changes color every 10 seconds, as used by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation (now NTT). This rare watch has an oval ring rather than the round ring of the current case, and an unusual stamp dated 1963. The dial is a later white dial.

During the Showa era of the Japanese National Railways, the 19SEIKO was loved by railway workers for its high precision.

During his time at Seikosha, founder Kintaro Hattori developed the 19th Seiko, a watch with high precision that could rival the foreign-made watches that were in use at the time.

This watch continued to evolve through small, minor changes until 1971.

Seiko pocket watches were popular as Japan's leading "working watches," and have a history of being used not only on railways but also in the cockpits of Zero fighters during wartime.

Recently I've become interested in train travel and wanted a railway clock to use when I'm on the train or as a table clock at home, so I was thinking of buying the current Seiko quartz type.
However, I was introduced to the 19 Seiko at a pocket watch exhibition, and since I've always loved mechanical watches, I decided to buy it.
There was a defect when it was delivered, but it was repaired quickly and I've been using it without any problems. Thank you very much. I like the 5 beat sound. I have a feeling I'll be hooked on 19 Seiko watches from now on.
