The dream and passion of Montres Epos founder Peter Hofer for mechanical watches was born in the mid-1970s, during the heyday of quartz watches, and was realized in 1984 when he founded Montres Epos SA, a company specializing in the manufacture of mechanical watches, in Bienne, the center of the Swiss watch industry.

He approaches watchmaking from historical and artistic perspectives, and by following the techniques and traditions of Swiss watchmaking that have been cultivated over many years, he has studied history and combined it with modern technology to create a new type of classical watchmaking philosophy.

In recent years, "EPOS" has become a secret craze among watch enthusiasts, likely because the traditional techniques of the selected artisans that live on in the EPOS collection evoke the golden age of the Swiss watch industry.

Epos is creating a new type of classical watch philosophy by incorporating the dreams and passion for mechanical watches of Peter Hoffer, the founder of Epos, as well as the history and artistic aspects of watchmaking, and by following the techniques and traditions of Swiss watchmaking that have been cultivated over many years, studying history, and fusing it with modern, cutting-edge technology.
